Unconventional uses, and now I know they stand up well.
I use these to wrap around lots of stuff. They work really well on my nylon straps I tie my backhoe down with. Just gather up the excess strapping, layer it and put the bungee around the layers and the tight strap and no flailing yellow whips! Then when you aren't using your tie down straps, they go around the wrapped up tie downs. Nice and clean way to store them between uses. I use them as keepers on extension cords. Just lots of handy uses. Never used them for tarp canvas ties! Maybe someday...
Update: 7/2015 they are in the sun a lot. Still holding up really well. First four stars, now adding in longevity, kicked up to five stars. I will get more of these. Everyone that sees them usually gets a free one from me. I'm gonna need more.....

I bought these to use on a pitch back and they work perfectly. Also good for securing small lumber together in truck bed. Very useful.

Great for attaching a net to our backyard soccer goal frame
My kids have soccer goals in the yard. And while the net still hasn't fallen apart, the straps that came with the goal -- to attach the net to the frame -- fell apart long ago. I tried using zip ties, but they also break regularly. So I bought 50 of these small bungees and they work great. I am sure after a season in the yard, sustaining thousands of kicks to the back of the net, some of these will also break. But they will last longer than zip ties and weren't all that expensive.
